27th June 2012Robert Pirès, the famous footballer and the legend of the Arsenal F.C., supported the “Fair Play”project
On 24th June, Robert Pirès, the legend of the Arsenal F.C., and one of the best attacking mid-fielders in Europe, visited the sports playground «Fair Play» in the European Village to encourage children to aspire to new achievements, both in football and in life.
So, the children – ordinary pupils from Obolon and Dnipro districts of the city of Kiev – had a unique opportunity to talk to the footballer and get his autograph.
Communication with Robert Pirès aroused great interest among children, who asked lots of questions. In particular, they were interested in Robert’s experience in Arsenal F.C., his camaraderie with another football legend, Zineddin Zidane, and his opinion on English referees. Certainly, every young footballer is also interested to know how the sports training can be successfully combined with study. Remembering his school years, Robert assured his young fans that he was an ordinary pupil, and achieved success in life only due to hard work.
The children shared their impressions from meeting with the football legend. Yegor, 15 year old, says ‘I have not even dreamed of meeting Robert one day, and to get his autograph for me is just something absolutely fantastic. I am soo impressed! I am very happy that my school is in the project ‘Fair Play - Чесна Гра’.

26th June 2012Deputy mayor of Munich: Ukraine can be proud of Euro
Deputy Mayor of Munich Hep Monatseder has said that he is impressed with the atmosphere of the Euro-2012 fan zone in Kyiv.
“I got a chance to visit the fan zone two days ago, and its atmosphere just impressed me. Friendly sentiments dominated there, and elders stood beside youngsters and supported teams the same way. Fans with symbols of different national teams were represented, even those having already left the tournament,” Mr Monatseder has noted in his exclusive comments to the Information Centre Ukraine-2012.
The top-ranking German official has emphasized that Euro is an occasion for Ukraine and each host city to present itself and to show their tourist landmarks and infrastructure, along with the way celebrations are held during football. “Kyiv has proved that it is able to wonderfully organize the championship. Security has been organized here at the highest level. People ruin their stereotypes namely during major events of this kind,” the deputy mayor of Munich has said.
According to Hep Monatseder, Ukraine may be proud of the achievements is reached during the championship. “New stadiums, roads, hotels and airport terminals have appeared. It is very important that wonderful sporting infrastructure has been created, and further development is possible on its basis. The most important point is that no-one implies holding a single event. It would be nice to have all this get further promising development,” Mr Monatseder emphasized. He has also added that, thanks to the fact that Ukraine had managed to present itself well during the championship, it is already possible to speak about substantial tourists’ inflow into the country in the future. “Everyone who has visited Ukraine and has pleasant impressions will undoubtedly share them with their friend and will come back to you soon. When many people come to the country, the country changes itself: urban structural entities are being reconstructed, and residents borrow something better from the people who come,” the deputy mayor of Munich summed up.
Hep Monatseder finally confessed that he was keeping his fingers crossed for the German national team, as he was much willing to attend the Euro-2012 final in Kyiv to support it.

On June 24, the Street Voice will take place in Kyiv in the new format of a city market.
On this day, everyone will be able to participate in discussion and support of social innovation projects, eat delicious meals, listen to the music bands and buy exclusive items. Street Voice Fair will consist of informal, festive and creative market meetings where the money spent on purchase of clothes, delights or presents will be passed over not only to the owners of these items but also to the common fund for realization of the projects of social innovations with the Spilnokosht mechanism. In other words, we go to the Street Voice Market to buy red handmade earrings, eco notebooks, linden honey from the apiary, and a part of our money does not “disappear” but becomes an investment to interesting and socially useful projects. Every buyer at the Market will be provided with a ballot where he or she will indicate to which project of the Spilnokosht program they wish to redirect a percent of the money spent on a new acquisition.
The event will unite like-minded people and find initial funding through the community for realization of significant projects. The most successful projects presented at the Street Voice Market will continue raising funds on the Big Idea platform which is launching the practice of Spilnokosht in summer 2012 – an Internet-based mechanism of crowd funding of projects.
Except for the trade element, the Market, naturally, will consist of live sessions between the creators of ideas and the community, summer leisure together with artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, cooks, social innovators. The preview of the Street Voice Fair implies four components: presentation of projects, music part, healthy cooking, and artistic actions. Street Voice Market will be held on the territory of European Village and will become a means to accumulate beneficent energy and new productive ideas.
